Report on Irma/Herman
Sep 12, 2017
Hurricane Irma did far less damage to Florida than expected, largely due to its final path. By moving inland before hitting Tampa, it lost strength, but it also pushed the storm surge out to sea, rather than into the city. By the time it made its way north of the city, where the wind shifted from the sea toward the city, the storm was greatly weakened already, so very little storm surge occurred.
A newscaster concludes that there must have been a lot of prayer going up about Hurricane Irma.
Yes, no doubt millions prayed. Our own prayer took place August 6, 2017 at the statue of Herman in New Ulm.
